A country that has always talked to the world
For centuries Oman traded across the Indian Ocean, from Gwadar to Zanzibar, and the country still sounds like it: Arabic, English, Swahili and Balochi, plus the languages of the people who came more recently from Kerala, Pakistan and Bangladesh to work.
Chitmet gives you a quiet way to talk to any of them — one stranger at a time, in a private conversation, matched on the language and interests you pick. If you click, send a Keep in touch request; if you do not, Skip and someone new appears in seconds.
When Oman is online
With the country set to Oman, about 10 pm to 1 am is the busy time. If the local queue is quiet, choose Preferred instead of Strict and Chitmet widens the search step by step while you wait.
Oman shares the UAE’s clock: an hour ahead of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, an hour and a half behind India and an hour behind Pakistan. Leave the country open and pick Malayalam, Hindi or Urdu to talk to people back home.
Safety and respect
Your email and phone number are never shared, and calls are not recorded by Chitmet. Keep conversations respectful — local laws apply online as well as offline — and Report and Block anyone who does not.
Be careful with anyone who asks for money, a job or visa "fee", gift cards or bank details, or who wants to move to another app straight away. Those are scam patterns. Chitmet never asks for payment to chat, and it is 18+ only.
