Why Nigerians needed something other than webcam sites
Random video sites are heavy on data, need a strong connection and ask for a phone number — three things that make them a poor fit for most Nigerian users. They also brought the camera problems everyone knows about. Chitmet removes all of that: text and voice only, no number, and a page that loads on 3G.
A stranger sees your show name and gender, never your email or number, and calls are not recorded by Chitmet.
Best times and who you meet
With the Nigeria filter on, the queue is busiest from 8 pm to midnight West Africa Time. With it off and English selected, Nigerian evening is the same hour as the UK and lines up with India’s night and the US afternoon, so there is always someone.
Pidgin is welcome — "how far?" is a fine opener. If you want to talk only with Nigerians, keep the country filter on; if you are curious about the world, switch it off.
Staying safe
If anyone asks for money, a bank transfer, gift cards or to continue on another app, that is a scam pattern: Report and Block. Chitmet never asks for payment to chat, and Premium (optional) is only for extras like a gender filter.
