Talk, don’t perform
Random video chat turned talking to strangers into a performance — camera on, judged in two seconds. Chitmet is text and voice only. Nobody sees your face or your room; they see your show name, your gender and, if you choose, your country. That is enough to start a real conversation.
Add interests — Sports, Music, Technology, Business, Movies, Gaming — and Chitmet shows what you share as soon as you connect. If you click, send a Keep in touch request; you only become friends if the other person accepts.
When Kenya is online
With the country set to Kenya, about 9 pm to midnight is the busiest time. If the local queue is quiet, choose Preferred instead of Strict and Chitmet widens the search step by step while you wait.
Kenya is on East Africa Time — the same clock as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, and two and a half hours behind India. Plenty of Kenyans work in the Gulf; leave the country open to talk to them in their evening too.
M-Pesa scams and how to avoid them
The classic Kenyan scam is the "wrong number" M-Pesa message: a fake transfer notice, then a request to send the money back. Another is the job or "investment" that needs a small fee first. Nobody on Chitmet ever needs your M-Pesa PIN, your ID number or money — Report and Block anyone who asks.
Your phone number is never shared with the people you chat to, and calls are not recorded by Chitmet. Photos and voice notes only come through after the other person allows media. Chitmet is 18+ only.
