Chatib vs Chitmet: rooms or matches
Chatib is built around rooms. You enter with a username, gender, age and location, pick a room — Dating, Singles, US, General, Music, College, Religion, Politics, Philosophy or Sports — and start private chats with whoever catches your eye. A free registration adds animated GIFs, a friends list, offline messages and a profile picture, and there are simple games such as Tic Tac Toe and Reversi.
Chitmet has no rooms. Press Start and you are paired with one person for a private chat. Add interests and choose a country or one of 32 languages, and a Vibe Match score shows what you share. It suits people who would rather have one real conversation than keep an eye on a busy room.
Why a one-on-one match feels different
In a room, you decide who to message based on a username and whatever details people share. In a one-on-one match, both people start even: you are paired by what you are looking for — shared interests, a language, a country — rather than by who stands out in a list. Chitmet never asks for your exact age, only that you confirm you are 18 or older. If a chat is not working, Skip; if you skipped by accident, you have a few seconds to undo it.
Voice when you want it
Chatib is a text-based site. Chitmet adds audio-only voice calls: either person can invite the other from a text chat, the call starts only when both accept, and it is not recorded by Chitmet (only a reported call’s last few minutes reach moderators, deleted after 7 days). There is no video and no camera prompt, ever. And if you click with someone, you can both tap Keep in Touch to stay connected — nobody learns you asked unless they ask too.
Photos, videos and voice notes only come through after the other person allows media. Skip, Report and Block are in every chat, automated checks flag spam, scam links and phone-number fishing, and human moderators review reports.
Where Chatib is the better fit
If you enjoy group conversation, topic rooms, board games or browsing a room to decide who to talk to, Chatib does all of that and Chitmet does not — Chitmet is one-on-one only, with light two-person activities rather than board games. If you want a quick, private match by interest or language, with the option to talk by voice, Chitmet is built for it.
