Who you meet in Malay chat
Set Malaysia with Strict to keep it local, or leave the country open to meet Malay speakers in Singapore, Brunei and abroad. Kelantanese, Terengganu, Johor and Sabah Malay all sound different, and most people slip into Manglish anyway.
Add interests — sports, music, food, gaming, movies, travel — and the Vibe Match score shows what you share. Harimau Malaya and badminton, the best nasi lemak or mamak spot, Raya open houses, balik kampung traffic and the newest Malay drama make easy openers.
Malay or Indonesian?
Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indonesia are close cousins and most speakers understand each other, even though everyday words differ — "kereta" and "mobil" for a car, "percuma" and "gratis" for free. They are separate options in the language filter. If the Malay queue is quiet, try Indonesian, or see the Indonesian version of Chitmet at /id.
Borak guna suara
When typing gets slow, switch to an audio-only call once you both accept. It runs in the browser, shows no phone number and is not recorded by Chitmet.
Scams to watch for
Never send money by DuitNow, Touch ’n Go eWallet or bank transfer to someone you met in a chat, never share a TAC or OTP, and hang up on "Macau scam" calls pretending to be the police or a bank. Report and Block anyone who asks. Chitmet is 18+, moderated, and photos only come through after you allow them.
